Job description
The Operations and Projects team consists of 4 members including a team leader. We are a centralised finance function, based at our Wells street administrative block in Central London. We provide a centrally managed and locally delivered service to the University’s principal locations.
We are advertising to recruit a finance assistant to assist and support the operations & projects team. The role will include processing of procurement card transactions, raising purchase orders, accounting for catering contract invoices and processing of expense claims for staff and students.
This role will also be involved in reconciling procurement card control account & catering control account, provide support in producing monthly summary reports and any other appropriate duties as may be requested by the Operations and Projects team leader.
The successful candidate will be educated to ‘A’ Level, which is essential. Added qualification of AAT or an HE Degree is desirable but not essential. We expect you to be proficient in Excel, Word and have experience of working on computerised financial management systems. Agresso accounting system knowledge is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided to successful candidate’s on Agresso. Experience of working in a Higher Education financial function is preferrable but not essential.
You will have good communication and numeracy skills and the ability to deal professionally and effectively with staff and suppliers. You will also work well within a team environment but with the ability to work without supervision for extended periods. You will also need to be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, often under time constraints and pressures.
