It’s a picture perfect scene. Swans glide past a whitewashed mill, nestled on the riverbank by an ancient bridge, framed by weeping willows. Lush green water-meadows stretch as far as the eye can see. Welcome to The Mill Hotel, a beautifully converted watermill in the quintessential country town of Sudbury, Suffolk.
History and modernity meet here, with soothing, contemporary interiors throughout the hotel and it’s 62 rooms, complementing the mill’s original features, among them the waterwheel itself – an atmospheric centerpiece in the restaurant and relaxing bar. Within minutes of the hotel, picturesque villages dot some of England’s loveliest countryside in scenes made famous by romantic artist John Constable.
We’re looking for Hotel Receptionists who can maintain a positive and calm outlook, a friendly approach, can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, carry out instructions, be able to pay close attention to detail and a desire to provide exceptional customer service.
To succeed within the role you would ideally have previous experience of working within a hotel reception and knowledge of hotel reservations systems. You should also have good sales ability, an approachable manner, and knowledge of the MS Office suite.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- taking reservations,
- dealing with guests’ enquiries and assistance,
- check-ins and check-outs,
- taking payments,
- answering calls and emails and ensuring a high level of customer service at all times.
