Full Time Northwood, South East England, England 25803 - 41925 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Required from: Immediately
Contract term: Permanent
Hours: Full time only, 36 hours per week. This is a site based role.
Salary: Support Staff Grade 3/4 (circa £25,803 to £41,925 per annum FTE)

The role: Northwood College for Girls is seeking a full/part qualified or trained finance/accounts professional for the role of Finance Assistant to provide accurate and effective financial support to the school. This is a great opportunity to join a busy finance team, further expand your knowledge and expertise and be part of an exciting and exceptional school.

The Finance Assistant will report to the Finance Manager and assist with all aspects of school accounting, in particular purchase ledger functions, expenses, credit card and trips administration. The post holder will also train staff in the use of the purchase order system, and liaise with parents, staff, and suppliers.

The ability to manage and prioritise multiple workloads whilst maintaining positive working relationships is key to this role. Equally important is your previous experience in a finance department, with the ability to evidence an all-round accountancy background, including sales and purchase ledgers and journals. An understanding of accounting software (PS Financials or equivalent) will round off your profile.

This is a full time position, working 36 hours per week on site. Previous experience in a school environment is not essential.

About the School: Northwood College for Girls is an independent, academically selective day school for approximately 880 girls aged 3-18. At NWC, we value character and academic rigour equally. Our curriculum ignites intellectual curiosity and fosters emotional intelligence, building resilience through challenge. An NWC education enables every girl to lead a purposeful life and feel successful in their learning.

Both pupils and staff are encouraged to find and develop their passions and talents, through clubs, societies and an extensive programme of CPD. All members of the NWC community are expected to act with compassion and integrity, with respect for others and the environment and an awareness of global responsibility.

Everyone is equally valued in our NWC family and our dynamic young women are proud of their school. Looking after one another and rejoicing in one another’s successes comes second nature to a NWC girl as does her ‘can-do’ attitude and drive.

NWC is at an exhilarating moment in its evolution, with a dynamic and ambitious Senior Leadership Team. We are delighted to have a suite of recent school site developments, including a Sixth Form Centre and STEAM Building. The successful candidate will be similarly ambitious for the school and ready to make an impact in our vibrant learning community.
