About the role
As a valued member of the JFR Finance team, this role will support with the day-to-day transactional duties of the function, with a particular focus on Payroll and related reports and analysis. This role will be the key contact within the team in this regard and will also manage all sub-contractor details with a view to monthly payment runs according to authorized timesheets and supporting operations with maintaining IR35 regulations. Ultimately this role will evolve into supporting the wider business with payroll related analysis, helping drive better commercial and costing decisions. In addition there will be an element of supporting the wider Finance team and exposure to other Finance areas such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
An excellent entry-level role in Finance, there is an opportunity for this role to develop within the team and through supported qualification training should that be desired.
As Finance Assistant your key skills will include:
- Process of the monthly Payroll including managing any queries, overtime and premium rate issues
- Management of Harvest system, including updating of latest day rates and employee/sub-contractor details etc.
- Support maintaining Finance e-mail account
- Collation and maintenance of Sub-contractor details including supporting operations to manage IR35 regulations
- Fortnightly expenses runs for employees
- Ownership, communication and implementation of the Expenses policy
- Reports and analysis across payroll and sub-contractors to support commercial and costing decisions
- Learn and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as required
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Previous Payroll experience desirable but not essential
- Finance experience, particularly at a transactional level
- Comfortable with numbers and Excel
- Confident communicator and approachable
- Able to work to deadlines with a strong work ethic
- Strong inter-personal skills with a can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team with a structured, planned approach to work.
