The Human Resources team provide generalist and specialist expertise to the business and reputationally are well respected by the business. We work closely with our European counterparts as well as HR colleagues in our parent company based in Houston.
Job Purpose:
The Human Resource Assistant position will support the Human Resources Manager (HRM) and more broadly the HR team, by ensuring that HR procedures, systems, processes and controls are maintained to a high level of accuracy and by providing support and guidance to managers and employees on a range of people related topics or queries. The role will focus predominantly on the UK though work alongside HR colleagues in Europe.
As HRA you will also have the opportunity to work on HR projects and process improvements, working alongside an established and well-respected Human Resources team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build professional working relationships with employees and managers to support and guide on HR policy and practice.
- Take responsibility for the employee on-boarding process from offer stage through to completion of probation, managing the process flow and all related administration.
- Manage the leavers process including exit interviews, IT access and changes.
- Support the HRM and Head of HR with ER cases, arranging and attending meetings and taking notes as required
- Support cyclical HR activities such as performance review, pay cycles, talent reviews, engagement surveys etc.
- Guide managers and employees on policy and procedures such as absence, family related leave and flexible working.
- Maintain accurate data on all employee life cycle processes and keep HR systems up to date e.g. Workday.
- Prepare reports and HR metrics for executives and managers as required.
- Work closely with the L&D team to support any training needs identified such as events, presentations, apprenticeship/professional qualifications and Wellness and CSR activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to meet our commitments to the FCA and PRA
- Take an active role in various project groups as assigned by the Head of HR, working closely with our parent company and HR team in Houston and across Europe
- Support the HRM and Heads of HR (UK and Europe) with ad-hoc tasks and duties as required from time to time
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- Previous relevant generalist HR experience
- The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree level or hold a relevant professional qualification such as CIPD.
- A clear communicator both written and verbal.
- Highly organised and able to manage successfully with multiple activities.
- Attention to detail and a pride in accuracy.
- High pace and resilience with a client service mentality
- Showing initiative and proactivity by seeking and suggesting improvements to processes
- Good IT skills with Microsoft Office and HR related systems
Desirable:
- Experience of using Workday
- Experience of producing HR Metrics
