A key member of the Centrals Finance team the job holder will Business Partner key stakeholders both business and internal to finance producing, managing and reporting centrals costs. Focus will be on producing insightful analysis and influence to drive decisions and actions providing support and challenge. The role will work cross-functionally with teams in finance & the business and involve key set plays on period end analysis, Budgets, forecasts and Corporate Plan.
What you need to do
- Own the period-end process for divisional costs including working with stakeholders to provide excellent financial control, reporting and analysis.
- Work closely with wider team to drive consistent, quality reporting and approach to set play to drive efficiency and ensure cover across areas
- Business Partner relevant stakeholders, producing accurate insightful reporting to enable them to make effective decisions about their divisional costs to support the delivery of department strategic plans
- Work closely with other Commercial Finance teams to deliver quality reporting and analysis to allow them to directly Business partner their key stakeholders
- Help the Centrals team to understand the key drivers of cost performance and interpret management reporting to provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders which is accurate and timely
- Support the business in identifying risks, anomalies and opportunities. A big focus on looking forward to ensure latest views reflect our best estimates with valued insight
- Attend regular department meetings ensuring Finance has a ‘voice’ and a ‘seat at the table’ where P&L impact meets department initiatives
- Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis and reporting for the business area as required to drive improvements
- Support the delivery of New ways of working in the Centrals team in particular the best use of planning & reporting tools and support further transformation developments
- Success in this role will mean being able to deliver timely, robust and accurate analysis; translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information when needed
What you need to know and show
- Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), or studying towards qualification
- Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication
- Strong commercial acumen
- Delivery of process improvements
- Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen
- To have a good track record of strong financial control, but also the ability to maintain such an environment
- Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, prioritise with good problem-solving abilities
- Must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy
- Able to prioritise effectively
