Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (OTE £33,000 - £37,000 )

My client are a UK leader in the materials handling industry. Due to their expansion they now have a new opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join their team. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative and future proof equipment, working with some well known establish customers who home my clients products.

They are looking for engineers who are driven, motivated and willing to learn and develop their skills and knowledge within the industry. They are looking for somebody who is a team player and is able to work well in a team as well as working alone.

This opportunity would suit an experienced FLT Engineer or Plant Fitter. May consider HGV Technician or ex forces dependant on experience and level of experience with varied equipment.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role as a Site Engineer will be expected to be in control of the maintenance, service and repairs of material handling equipment on site. Will be expected to cover occasional breakdowns, as and when is necessary. Candidate will be working with an assortment of equipment which includes a mixture of trucks - Diesel and Gas Engines and Electric Trucks.

Responsibilities of the Site Engineer:

  • Servicing and repair of material handling equipment.
  • Ordering of parts as efficiently as possible & ensure all stock levels/movement records are accurate & correct
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately & within the stipulated time period & with the relevant order numbers
  • Manage own work in progress
  • Maintain a safe working environment & work in a safe manner
  • Report any unsafe practices or potential hazards immediately
  • Attend training courses to maintain up to date knowledge of equipment

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified in Plant, Vehicle Maintenance or similar
  • Preferably served a full apprenticeship
  • Experienced FLT Engineer, HGV Technician or Ex forces will be considered for this opportunity
  • Technical experience in Engines, Electrics and Diagnostics is compulsory. Hydraulics and all other engine types are required also.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Attractive Salary circa to £29k up to £32k (OTE £33,000 - £37,000)
