Job description
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a fibr engineer will consist of (please note that this is not an exhaustive list):
- To ensure that the safety of colleagues and the public at the centre of everything you do
- Interpreting network diagrams/job packs, SLDs and fibre allocation sheets/splicing schedules
- Site set-up including signage, guarding and barrier in accordance with chapter 8 specifications
- Installation of splice enclosures in underground infrastrcuture
- Cable management
- Installation of patch panels within street cabinets
- Fibre splicing/terminating
- OTDR/power meter testing
- Ability to fault find and remediate high loss events
- Evidence capture of all stages of works from commencement to completion
- Commitment to health and safety, including compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as the applicable regulations
- Communicating back to supervisors, management and planning team on the status of your allocated works
- Any other duties as required
Right Candidate
Essential required skills and knowledge:
- Full UK driver’s license
- City & Guilds Fibre Optic Accreditation preferred
- NRSWA signing, lighting & guarding accreditation
- SA002
- Excellent understanding of fibre network installation & maintenance
- Good interpersonal skills

Salary: £45,500.00 per year
