We are looking to recruit a Facilities and Safety Manager to join our friendly and dynamic operations team. The Facilities and Safety Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of highly serviced research facilities, and the management of a skilled support staff team enabling research and teaching activities in the Department. This includes the smooth operation of general building services, in conjunction with the Estates Division, the provision of specialised research infrastructure in combination with external contractors, and the management of Health and Safety by supporting and advising the Head of Department (HoD).
The technical support team covers a range of grades and specialist work areas, from cleaning and general building maintenance, to teaching laboratories and specialist imaging facilities. The Facilities and Safety Manager leads this team by setting the culture, managing workloads, coordinating activities, recruiting, reviewing and developing staff.
