Job description

Formula 2 and Formula 3 is where the Formula 1 drivers of tomorrow learn and hone their craft. As interest in motorsport grows around the world, we are looking for a F2/F3 press officer to grow the coverage of the two championships and tell the stories of the junior categories. The role will involve travel to all F2 and F3 events and other ad-hoc travel as required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with media to secure and grow media coverage for F2 and F3;
  • Monitor press stories relating to both F2 and F3 series and maximise opportunities for positive PR and manage any potentially negative PR;
  • Assist in preparations of all F2/F3 events;
  • Management of F2 & F3 media inboxes;
  • Management of F2 & F3 media mailing lists;
  • Liaise with and build healthy relationship with all F2/F3 teams;
  • Ensure consistent F2 and F3 branding is used;
  • Write and distribute previews, press releases, press kits, and other communication content related to F2 and F3 events.
At event responsibilities
  • Liaise with and answer enquiries from the media ahead of and during event weekends, including enquiries related to accreditation, tabards allocations and interview requests;
  • Organise and host Virtual Media Roundtables;
  • Transcribe press conferences and driver quotes for distribution to media;
  • Undertake PR activities where needed, including - but not limited to - photo shoots, driver interviews, etc;
  • Assist during drivers’ appearances and interviews;
  • Management of the F2/F3 Media Platforms.
Other
  • To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
  • To operate safely at all times in line with Company health and safety requirements.
  • To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Department Manager or Team Manager may assign to you from time to time.
Person Specification:
  • Experience working in an agency or within in-house communications team in a fast paced 24-hour news cycle organisation.
  • Experience in providing communications support and advice to Senior Management.
  • A proven track record of working proactively to devise and deliver a wide range of media coverage across print, broadcast and online media.
  • Experience of working closely with both written media and broadcasters to deliver results.
  • Experience of handling media at live events desirable.
  • Work in a motorsport or sporting organisation desirable.
