The Private Secretary’s Office (PSO) acts as the primary source of advice to The King on constitutional, governmental, and political matters in the UK, His other Realms and the wider Commonwealth. They are responsible for organising The King and The Queen Consort’s official programmes, as well as speeches and messages, patronages, and correspondence from members of the public.

As Executive Assistant – Operations you will provide support to the Director of Operations, ensuring the effective operation of the Private Secretary’s Office.

As well as day-to-day diary management, travel organisation and correspondence management, you will act as secretary for meetings of which the Director of Operations is chair.

The role is wide-reaching, working at the heart of the operations function and acting as a critical coordinator in ensuring actions are managed competently and efficiently, with all the relevant stakeholders sighted on progress.

Keeping abreast of all live activity in the team’s portfolio, you will drive progress through engaging with stakeholders and act as a central point of contact for the team’s many programmes and projects.

About you

With strong secretarial or administrative experience and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people, you are exactly who we’re looking for.

You’ll be a self starter with a great eye for detail, knowing when to use your own initiative and when to enlist the support of colleagues.

As well as the ability to manage your own projects, you’ll be capable of solving problems and prioritising your own workload effectively.

You will seek out opportunities to improve processes, finding solutions for challenges as they arise and ensuring discretion at all times.

Your excellent communication skills will allow you to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and your written style will be equally clear and accurate.

You’ll be adaptable and efficient, which will allow you to thrive in this fast-paced, rewarding environment.
