The Opportunity
We are looking for an Events Assistant to join the Engagement and Communications team at Edinburgh College of Art. The role will provide administrative and practical support to the year-round ECA event calendar. The post-holder will lead all aspects of ECA events administration, support event delivery and coordinate and oversee a pool of Student Events Assistants.
Your skills and attributes for success
- Educated to at least N/SVQ 3 or equivalent level, plus typically at least 2 years’ relevant work experience
- Experience of scheduling and practical organisation of in person and digital events and/or creative outreach events such as exhibitions, performances, etc.
- Excellent Event organisational, and administrative skills, with a high attention to accuracy
- Ability to exercise judgement and initiative to work without direct supervision and prioritise own work within the annual cycle
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and adapt to rapidly changing situations
- Excellent communication, liaison and interpersonal skills and enjoys working with a wide range of colleagues and audiences

We are open to considering requests for (non-contractual) hybrid working that combines remote and regular on-campus work. Please note that within the Engagement and Communications Team, Monday and Tuesday are designated days on campus. However, you will be expected to be on campus for additional days, including evenings and weekends, to support events and meetings as required.
