Evening Cleaning Working Supervisor
Monday to Thursday 1600-2100
Friday 1600-2000
24 hours per week
£12.24 per hour
£13.16 per hour from 1st April 2023
As a working supervisor you will be expected to carry out general cleaning tasks as and when required, to agreed standard, as directed by the Area Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1) Health & Safety
a) Responsible for the wellbeing of direct reports & all individuals within the defined area of leadership on site.
b) Ensuring compliance to Hamton & Client standards & procedures.
c) Carryout inductions to new employees.
d) Carrying out Spot Safety Audits for both direct employees/agency workers and sub-contractors
e) Carryout and Record training.
f) Ensure that all direct reports have been appropriately trained in the tasks required of them.
g) Ensure correct cleaning process are observed to prevent the spreading of germs and/or potential infections.
2) Environment
a) Ensure environmental processes are always understood & followed.
b) Ensure that liquid wastes are disposed of to appropriate drains or containers as contained in relevant Method Statements.
c) Ensure that solid wastes are disposed of via correct containers
d) Use and promote available recycling methods and facilities
e) Ensure any spills are cleared up in accordance with generic method statements and specific requirements laid out in the MSDS.
3) Leadership
a) Demonstrate leadership by example.
b) Know where your direct reports are at all times.
f) Communicate effectively at all levels concisely, including with our customers.
g) Conduct daily briefings/communication.
h) Foster a coaching style to ensure team are led with clear objectives.
i) Conduct regular reviews with direct reports to ensure & promote team effectiveness, allowing skills & abilities to be developed.
j) Make firm decisions based on factual data.
k) Be approachable, reliable & trustworthy.
l) Check employees are in attendance and report upwards any absent employees
m) Control the issue of stores/P.P.E to operatives and to be satisfied that usage is appropriate both as a volume and as to its function.
n) Report to your Site Manager any anomalies found in your area of responsibility.
4) Performance
a) Carryout Cleaning Audits
b) Complete Return to Work interviews
c) Consistently conclude any verbal grievances in a professional manner referring any formal grievances to management or company directors as appropriate.
d) Plan ahead & manage time effectively.
e) Proactively manage holiday request to stay within agreed levels of absents.
f) Ensure record keeping is effectively managed & available as required as listed below.
Attendance books, Shift reports, Return to work, Self cert and Store sheets.
g) Liaise with other supervisors, support staff & customer as required
h) Demonstrate flexibility and create the same expectation in others.
i) Be seen as a part of the bigger picture & clearly show ownership.
j) Be accountable for all your actions & decisions.
k) Demonstrate continual improvement through a proactive work approach.
l) Work as a part of a team & encourage team working.
