In 2007 AEM Limited was acquired by AMETEK Inc, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices as a unit within AMETEK MRO’s Aerospace and Defense Division, a recognized global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.
- Day-to-day team management of the Machine and Plating Business Unit, supervising the following sections;
Plating shop
Bush Fit
Painting shop
Operations office
NDT
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of strong team morale and team working
- Maintain and ensure implementation of all standard operating practices and procedures.
- Maintain the function of plant and equipment to include machine maintenance (preventative and scheduled).
- Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and monitor stock levels of machine shop consumables.
- Plan and schedule workload in line with the site production schedule.
- Co-ordinate th efficient use and organisation of resources and equipment to meet the production schedule.
- Plan for and support the implementation of new product development initiatives.
- Ensure component work is undertaken in accordance with procedures and manuals.
- In conjunction with the customer support team, facilitate efficient and effective customer service levels.
- Train, motivate and performance manage staff
Experience and qualifications
- Experience of working within the Engineering Industry
- Prior experience in a production workshop environment
- Computer literate
- Experience of working to tight deadline, whilst maintaining a high degree of quality and compliance.
- Customer focused and able to build and maintain robust customer relationships.
- Able to manage and develop a team in a demanding, customer focused working environment.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Results orientated; able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
