This role is a key position and requires a fully professional approach and attitude towards both clients and fellow workers.
Job Summary
The Estimator’s prime role is to prepare quotations for current and potential clients for the supply of Ambar Kelly’s Patented RiserSafe system. Quotations are to be prepared and issued in a timely fashion and the sales pipeline is to be kept up-to-date. Liaising with the Directors for all tenders is paramount.
Key Aims
Make sure that wherever possible health and safety is the guiding principle of the role with updates to Directors of the company.
Continually look for ways to reduce costs and increase productivity, through efficiency but without damaging or compromising the quality.
Work as part of the team to support the business, liaising with all departments and checking against the QA board set up in the workshop that sets the standards
Responsibilities and Duties
Liaise with Clients when preparing quotations, demonstrating savings which will be achieved using RiserSafe.
Where appropriate, suggest alternative solutions to the Client which will be to the benefit of their project.
Develop a system to track quotes that are still live, won and lost.
Analyse historical “win rate” and along with the Director agree a target win rate going forward.
Streamline how quotation information is stored on the company sever into live, completed and lost projects to allow easier access to information.
Respond to Clients invitations to Tender
Prepare quotations with the Estimator for presentation to the Managing Director proposing “mark-up” and reasoning.
Present quotation to Client where possible demonstrating the functions of the RiserSafe system and highlighting where they will achieve saving from other packages.
Liaise with the Finance Director to ensure current prices of project materials prices are used in the preparation of quotations.
When a project has been won, analyse the purchase order to ensure that it is in line with the quotation and bring any discrepancies to the attention of the Finance Director.
Prepare and present the won project in conjunction with the Director to the “delivery team” i.e. Managing Director, Finance Director, Production Manager and Project Coordinator.
In conjunction with your Line Director, periodically contact the Client to check that the project delivery team is meeting and exceeding their expectations and report feedback appropriately.
Be courteous and respectful of fellow workers and wherever possible to support them as required.
To assist the Company’s drive for continual improvement.
Log all health and safety issues raised or seen to prevent accidents at work.
Undertake other tasks and duties as may be required on a day-to-day basis to achieve the team tasks and the company directives.
