Personalis, Inc. is a leader in advanced cancer genomics for enabling the next generation of precision cancer therapies and diagnostics. To enable cancer and population sequencing, Personalis' Clinical Laboratory was built with a focus on clinical accuracy, quality, big data, scale and efficiency. The laboratory is GxP-aligned as well as Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988-certified and College of American Pathologists-accredited.

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Engineering Infrastructure to lead our teams in the management of high performance computing, storage, and networking, as well as information security and database administration. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in advanced IT administration, architecture, and design, with at least 5 years of experience in IT management and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide leadership to teams responsible for HPC, networking, information security, and database administration
- Work with the teams to design, build and maintain highly available and scalable IT infrastructure
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of networking and security solutions
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to information security and data privacy, including SOC 2 certification
- Provide strategic direction and manage the career growth of the teams
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operation of IT services
- Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their potential impact on the organization
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for software and hardware procurement
- Manage budgets and ensure cost optimization in the infrastructure management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in advanced IT administration, architecture, and design
- 5+ years of IT management and leadership experience
- Technical skills in:
- High performance computing
- Linux and Linux OS server automation
- High performance storage
- Grid Engine
- Cisco Nexus Switches, network monitoring
- Server and service monitoring
- VMware and VxRail management and administration
- AWS and GCP administration
- Information Security, SOC 2 certification, policy and SOP creation
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management and vendor management skills

The hiring range for this position is $170,000 to $210,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
