The Job:
Responsible for leading the process, team and overall results across the Electro-Mechanical Assembly and Repairs area. To provide direction, instructions and guidance to the manufacturing team to ensure operations are conducted safely and to cost and quality standards.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • To be responsible and accountable for the Assembly, Repair and Testing Processes for Electro-Mechanical assemblies.
  • To Own the overall performance and results of the process
  • To Identify and Manage the critical process success factors
  • To control and lead Process Improvement
  • To approve or reject Process deviation requests.
  • To ensure adherence to the process
  • To report Process status and progress to management and peers.
  • Responsible for the facilitation, resolution and escalation of cross functional issues
  • To represent the process to all external groups
  • To be accountable for the cost and investment in the process.
General accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • To ensure on time delivery of Mechanical subassemblies, finished components and customer repairs to internal and external customer requirements.
  • To drive quality focus and error proofing initiatives, ensuring optimum standards are created and adhered to.
  • Mentor/Coach staff to ensure root causes are identified within a structured Continuous Improvement program.
  • To be an ambassador for Operational Excellence , owning and continually improving key performance indicators:SQCPD
  • To have excellent Customer focus ensuring best value is delivered via Value stream mapping.
  • To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day-to-day activities and procedures within the specified role.

  • To organise daily workload within the production area and ensure customer delivery dates are consistently achieved.
  • To develop staff flexibility and individual skill sets that ensures the business can proactively meet customer demands and lead times.
  • To proactively monitor the maintenance and availability of Pressure test facilities, tools and jigs to ensure completion of repair or production orders.
  • To provide Technical assistance and training support for Customers as required.
  • To develop innovative Visual performance management systems that enable delivery of key objectives.
  • To encourage creativity and innovation within a controlled and safe process. Organising team based activities that recognise high performance and reward accomplishments.
  • To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information & Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role.
  • To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times.
  • To carry out any other duties as detailed by your Supervisor or Manager from time to time.
  • To keep good time management to minimise any wasted time and maximise productivity and effectiveness.
Quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE)
  • To drive the companies 6S policy and achieve high standards in own area, instructing the team on the proper use of safety equipment and knowledge of emergency procedure while reporting any safety/security incidents that occur.
  • Responsible for defining and rolling out safe and sustainable working practices and ensuring they are being followed
  • Lead by example in relation to HSE; “Do the right thing even when no one is looking.”
