Job Title: Employment Navigator
Responsible to: Project Manager
Location: 8 posts available in: Belfast, Causeway Coast & Glens,
Derry~Londonderry & Strabane, Antrim and Newtownabbey, Lisburn &
Castlereagh, Fermanagh & Omagh, Newry, Mourne & Down
Hours: 35 hours per week (Hybrid working)
Salary: £27,403 per annum
Contract Term: Fixed term until March 2025 (Possible extension subject to funding)
Job Background
Bryson exists to make the greatest difference to the greatest need. The
Maximise Employment Navigator will engage:
- 1,200 hardest to reach economically inactive people in localities of multiple deprivation across Northern Ireland to deliver in community-based settings: ·
- 9,600 tailored, intensive, wrap-around, one-to-one support sessions up to 1hr long (i.e., average of 8 per beneficiary) including life and basic skills sessions i.e., digital, English, maths,
- 5,400 “check-ins” following employment. This will enable beneficiaries to gain and sustain employment and increase their skills levels to maximise their potential.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work towards the project KPIs of: o 1,200 Introductory meetings: one-to-one in venues convenient to participants, providing an overview of the programme/support available o 1,200 Assessments of Potential: at enrolment, each participant is assisted to complete a strength-based, holistic, baseline assessment identifying strengths, development areas and potential barriers to becoming economically active o 1,200 Plans to Maximise Potential: co-develop tailored plans to maximise potential based on the Assessment of Potential including personal goals, specific training/mentoring, other relevant support; as well as the complementary wrap-around support delivered by Bryson
- Ensure Bryson has a visible presence in your geographical area through development of links with local community networks and appropriate stakeholders
- Conduct initial assessment of clients to identify additional support/training needs required.
- Provide tailored service to meet individual needs as identified in the initial assessment.
- Use a range of relevant assessment methods to determine the best approach to transition economically inactive clients back into employment and training.
- To regularly input and maintain all client data on the online customer case management system.
- To achieve contractual key performance indicator (KPI), targets including supporting a minimum of 75 clients per year (600 total per year) to obtain a qualification, license, or skill.
- Conduct venue reviews to ensure community training environments are suitable.
- Liaise with wider Maximise Employment and Bryson Energy team to share best practice and reduce the risk of clients disengaging.
- Register clients onto external training for qualifications & licenses, ensuring ongoing communication to ensure best chance of attainment and completion of qualification.
- Assess client’s need for additional direct one-off interventions to remove any additional barriers to completion or employment such as training and IT devices or Root Cause support (Net Zero advice, Family & Crisis Support etc.)
- Design bespoke pre-employment programmes with employers.
- Engage in performance management sessions with line manager to review KPIs and ensure high professional standards.
- Contribute towards internal and external evaluations, implementing any recommendations.
- Engage in team meetings, supervision, and regular reviews.
- Adhere to the values and ethos of Bryson Energy.
- Keep clear, concise and factual records on each child/family and provide written reports when required.

- Participate in all relevant training when required
- Prepare for and participate in Annual Performance Reviews
- Observe all relevant Health & Safety rules and regulations
- Carry out any other relevant tasks, which may from time-to-time, be required

- Ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity and in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and amendments
- Comply with Bryson Energy protocols on the appropriate use of telephone, e-mail and internet facilities
- Comply with the principles of risk management in relation to individual and corporate responsibilities
- Observe and adhere to all Bryson Energy Policies & Procedures
- Partake in all Bryson Energy Quality Initiatives
- Assist if required with Bryson Energy fundraising activities

Salary: £27,403 per annum
Hours: 35 hrs per week (Hybrid working considered)
Holidays: 12 statutory days (pro rata)
20 Annual days (pro rata)
Probationary Period: 6 months
Notice: 1 month (in writing)
