Job description
We are looking for a quality and performance driven Employment Advisor who will deliver an excellent customer service for participants, playing a pivotal role in equipping them with the skills, tools and practices they need in order to re-enter employment.
Based from our Sunderland office, Employment Advisors manage a caseload of Restart Participants, working with them to support progression into sustained employment. You will be responsible for:
- Identifying participants goals, aspirations, and barriers to employment – facilitating appropriate short and long-term solutions and interventions as required
- Monitoring ongoing progression of participants into sustainable employment whilst also developing their job search skills, strategy, empowerment and confidence
- Identifying appropriate internal and external contacts to build, develop and maintain relationships as a source of referrals for participants
- Establishing and managing relationships with Employers, following up with both participants and the Employer to gain interviews and ensure a smooth transition into employment and beyond
- Accurate and timely recording and review (for completion and completeness) of all participant details and requirements for every intervention

For this role you will need:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build rapport with a wide range of participants, external networks and colleagues.
- To be confident in your ability to assess, mentor, motivate and coach individuals to be the best they can be.
- To be great at problem-solving and able to identify issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Strong administration skills and good computer/technology skills, basic numeracy and good record keeping ability.
- Ideally, you will have Level 2 English and IAG Level 4 however, these are not essential.
Previous experience of working with the unemployed/recently employed having supported people with a range of barriers into work e.g., those with health conditions, skills needs, BAME communities, lone parents, those aged 50+ would be beneficial but is not essential.
