SO, WHAT’S THE STORY?

The Employee Relations team provide advice, guidance and support to Line Managers on all employee relations cases. In this newly created role within our growing business, you will manage a small team of Advisors that support line managers across our Group (Global Head Office functions based in the UK) and our regional EU teams (based in over 7 markets in the EU). With employee engagement & inclusion front of mind, you’ll help to create an environment where all our people can thrive.
THE GIG
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to help us develop our ER hub and really make a difference to the business. The role is a vital part of the Infrastructure team and the wider HR function.
As our ER Manager you will:
- Lead and coordinate the activities of a team of HR Advisors to ensure the team respond and resolve ER queries and cases in a timely manner, fairly, consistently, commercially and pragmatically.
- Define and support the implementation of an ER operating model including policy, process, governance and capability.
- Partner HR Leads to proactively advise on wider people related issues that span the employee lifecycle
- Work closely with the HR Leads to ensure clarity in responsibilities, reduction in duplication and strive for best practice and consistency. Effective collaboration is key, with others in HR and across other functions.
- Act as a point of escalation and build trusted, credible relationships with senior leaders and HR leads by providing ER advice and solutions for complex, high risk or high-profile cases.
- Manage the Employee Relations caseload and provide expertise, support, coaching and advice to your team of Advisors.
- Own and manage all Employee Relation policies, creating them where necessary, and ensuring processes and SLAs are adhered to. You will develop relationships to share best practice and trends to benchmark the service provision externally and internally.
- Regularly review performance, delivery, satisfaction and quality and proactively put plans in place when service levels are not met. You’ll ultimately have a relentless focus on continuous improvement. In addition, you’ll share successes and challenges to ensure a common understanding across the teams and support each other to resolve issues.
- Produce an ER dashboard for the HR Leadership team and adhoc reports
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
- CIPD, or similar, professional Employment Law qualification is preferred.
- Strong leadership and influence skills with team management experience.
- You’ll have strong Employee Relations experience and be able to demonstrate a commercial acumen; you will be comfortable navigating & reducing risk, providing effective employment relations-based business solutions that support operational outcomes.
- You’ll have a good understanding of UK employment legislation. Knowledge of other European employment legislation is highly desirable.
- Experience of data analysis and reporting in a HR/ER environment using a case management tool.
