The Role
Job Purpose
This is a newly created role aimed at powering the delivery of strategic and tactical value opportunities in Shell’s EMEA Lubricants business. This role will play an important part in supporting the EMEA Lubricants leadership team deliver on its ambitious growth targets.

The Global Lubricants business is also growing - with strong investment plans – and has recently launched a new refreshed business strategy. Lubricants leverages its integrated end-to-end business model from manufacturing to supply chain to marketing to respond to customer needs; customers who have an increasing appetite for low carbon, renewable and carbon neutral offers.
This role is key to managing and driving the overall portfolio of value initiatives within the Lubricants business across Europe, Russia, Middle East and Africa. The incumbent will be joining the Lubricants organisation at an exciting time of growth and expansion, seeking value and cross business opportunities across over the full E2E Lubricants value chain from raw materials procurement, production, distribution, to sales and customer technical support offerings.
What’s the role?
This key role, reporting to the GM Transformation and Sustainability EMEA will focus on identifying and managing project risks and interdependencies, driving project execution strategies and implementation plans by connecting with the relevant project managers and sponsors to enable successful delivery of projects in the region. The role helps with cross regional synergies, cross-business learnings and helps ensure that the right trade-offs discussions take place by surfacing dilemmas, resource blockers and any other issues which hamper the program execution. The role will help the region make a step-change in value delivery.
We’ll entrust you to:
Own the setup and program management of the regional portfolio of value initiatives, ensuring prioritisation and resourcing across the EMEA lubricants business.
Act as regional focal point for overall delivery of the Ultimate Potential projects as well as the cost saving (OPEX, COGS, Working Capital) and value delivery opportunities.
Provide analytics to track delivery against targets and overall health of the value initiatives pipeline and share progress to the EMEA Leadership Team via the approved tools
Drive the cadence process of seeking additional support, dilemma escalation and resolution by using agile ways of working.
Collaborate and embed the necessary project tools and ways or working within the regional and local teams. Provide expertise, training, troubleshooting support and enable Continuous Improvement
Regular alignment and coordination with other business functions such as Global and Contracting & Procurement on ways of working, data consistency, funnel value as well as Project Management Community duties to support development, feedback and implementation of digital tracking tool functionalities. Organise and facilitate the weekly CAPEX/Contracts fora.
Facilitate cross business and cross regional identification of value opportunities driving a step change in the regional delivery
What we need from you
This is a role for someone with great energy to pragmatically deliver a highly ambitious growth agenda. Moreover, you will have/be:
A high potential commercially astute candidate ready to take on and explore key business challenges and push the boundaries on value delivery
Strong collaboration, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills needed with the ability to influence without formal authority to ensure successful delivery through others.
Excellent communication skills and ability to tailor message to different audiences as appropriate and concisely express complex opportunities as required.
Clear drive for structure, process, discipline and Continuous Improvement mindset strongly desired.
Familiarity with project management approaches and tools
Experience or knowledge in Agile methodology would be a plus
Having a learner mindset – role model curiosity and reflection; encourage people to learn from mistakes and successes
