What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of administrative and editorial processes on our lists, as well as assisting the wider team. You will be in charge of reprints for our extensive backlist and will check all of our ebooks. You will organise and minute meetings, update metadata, process invoices and assist on creating pitches and presentations. You will liaise with authors, agents and licensors and will be responsible for mailing out contractual copies and gratis orders. You will assist editors with market research and will be responsible for gathering data for regular trends reports. You will be expected to master the publishing systems and the editorial and production processes that go into making a finished book.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and energetic assistant who is just as comfortable with completing administrative tasks as they are with contributing to creative brainstorms. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, dependable and proactive, with the ability to problem solve, communicate effectively and prioritise multiple tasks.
Previous publishing experience is not required, but applicants must have excellent spelling and grammar and a sharp eye for detail, as well as a keen understanding of the children’s books market. We value imagination, ambition and collaboration, and are looking for somebody who is eager to grow their skillset.
