We are a 26 bedroom privately owned hotel, a short drive from the beautiful Lake District town of Ambleside. We have a thriving regular customer base which continues to expand, we also have a very well established and hands on team.
We are seeking a hard working individual on a full time basis to join our team. Shifts will be a mix of Early and late’s with a bias towards the late shift to start with, covering all working aspects of a Duty Managers role. Some splits shifts may be required depending on the needs of the business.
This is a key holders position so we would be looking for someone who has some experience in opening/locking up procedures, however this is not essential as full training will be provided by one of our very experienced Duty managers.
Main Duties include but are not limited to.... Supporting the General Manager in the day to day running of our very busy hotel, taking bookings, checking guests in and out of the hotel, taking payments, setting tasks for staff on duty, also ensuring any special requests by customers are met, we have a lot of returning guest who feel like its a “home from home” so strong communication skills are important to give our guests the best stay with us possible. We are looking for someone that has a hands on approach and will be willing to roll up their sleeve’s and get involved with the service and support all department within the hotel when needed, a successful candidate would need to be comfortable and confident in leading a team and shift while also dealing with any issues that may arise, this can be a tasking role but is very rewarding when you know the guests have enjoyed their stay.
The successful candidate will be starting on £11.50 per hour negotiable depending on experiance. Our appealing staff package also includes FREE accommodation in a private Double room with Ensuite bathroom, which is situated on the hotel grounds, free WiF, Two FREE staff meals provided per day whether on shift or not. 28 days paid holiday, company pension scheme, staff discount, share of tips and a festive staff party. Due to the seasonality of the business, the hotel closes for 3 weeks in January to give you a well deserved break after the very busy festive season.
