You will be responsible for transporting deceased people from local mortuaries to our Stoke-on-Trent site. You will work closely with our Service Team to ensure a timely and smooth transfer of the deceased between the resting mortuary and our facility.
This is a part time position and you will be required to be at Queens Medical Centre everyday for 7.30am.
Responsibilities
To collect and transport the deceased from mortuaries and transfer to Digital Autopsy site locations.
- Work closely with the Service Team to ensure transfers are undertaken to the appropriate location in a timely manner.
- Assist staff and mortuary staff with handling and moving of the deceased.
- Conduct oneself with pride and be mindful of ensuring the dignity of the deceased.
- Ensure a smart well turned out appearance at all times.
- Drive private ambulance to the standards required, maintain the cleanliness both externally and internally of the vehicles and re-fuel in line with operational policies.
- Ensure vehicles are driven at the correct speed limits in accordance with the law.
- Assist with administration work when required.
- Carry out other level-appropriate tasks as may be required.
The Candidate
- Full Driving Licence
- Physically fit and smart in appearance
- Experience in handling the deceased is preferred
- You must have a sympathetic and empathetic approach to the work
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: £10.42 per hour

- Monday to Friday
