DCG Logistics UK Ltd –1 Class C+E tramper driver
DCG Logistics UK Ltd is an international freight forwarder with depots in Chelmsford, Coventry, Dartford, and Witham. We are a fast-growing company in the freight forwarding industry. With our global network, we manage international and domestics shipments.
DCG Logistics UK Ltd are looking for a Fixed Term Contract Driver to work in our Transport department in Chelmsford. The hours are Monday to Friday starting between 4:00am -11:00pm each day. Flexibility needed during quiet periods to swap working days around. There will be opportunities to progress from a Fixed Term Contract to Full Time.
Duties are as following but not limited to:
Container collection/deliveries
- collecting from the various container ports in the UK. The main one being Felixstowe. (Training will be provided if unfamiliar)
- Ensure vehicle checks completed before the use of any vehicle or trailer being used. All checks to be done through an app and use of own phone is required for this.
- Container shunting from the docks and bring back to the depot
- Container deliveries to customer premises and return. There may be times where you are required to collect the container prior to delivery or return your empty back to the docks after delivery. This depends on delivery location, load times, etc.
- Yard shunting may be required from time to time to ensure trailers are loaded for next shifts
- Ensure all PODs (proof of delivery) signed by customer and checked before leaving
Requirement for 1 x Class 1 (C+E) tramper drivers
- Must have:
- No points on driving license
- No accidents in last 5 years
- Held a UK licence for over 12 months
- Newly passed (C+E) considered.
- Drivers could be asked to undertake a variety of duties
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Salary: £15.40 per hour
