Maple Leaf Homes, located in Fredericton NB, is a major manufacturer of Residential Housing and Industrial-Commercial Accommodation in Canada and the New England States. With over 30 years experience in manufacturing residential housing and Industrial-Commercial accommodations, we are able to offer homeowners and clients the advantages of a turn key projects ready to move in to.
We are currently looking for a Residential Draftsperson & Designer to join our team in our Design and Engineering Department. Working closely with our drafting department this individual must be detail oriented with excellent working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and bid documents.
Qualifications:
- Completed an engineering technology or equivalent program
- Knowledge of Canadian National Building Code (Part 3 and 9)
- Previous AutoCAD skills and experience
- Knowledge with Microsoft Office, specific to excel
- Knowledge or experience in residential plumbing, HVAC & electrical systems
- Able to work on multiple projects concurrently, under tight time lines, in a fast-paced environment
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Be able to work with a team and individually
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare client approval packages for Residential and Commercial Projects, such as floor plans, kitchen layouts, elevations, cross sections, truss drawings, foundation plan and electrical layouts
- Prepare construction drawings and details for manufacturing, such as wall details, framing details, HVAC designs
- Prepare Heat loss calculations
- Prepare construction calculations for headers and beams
- Prepare Window and Door schedules
- Review and coordinate sales orders and drawings
- All additional duties as they become assigned
