THE ROLE
Climate change and how it affects those in poverty, is critical to Oxfam Irelands mission on slowing climate change and ending poverty. To help us achieve this we seek to recruit an experienced and professional who can develop, lead, and manage Oxfam Ireland’s internal and external donated goods strategy.
The purpose of this role is to identify, cultivate and maximise long term opportunities through public campaigns and third-party strategic partnerships that will grow and sustain our donated supply chain and increase sales across the shop network.
This role will grow Oxfam Irelands influence across the island and ensure textile waste, incineration and landfill is reduced.
This is a very exciting time and opportunity for Oxfam Ireland as we embark on a programme of substantial growth, expanding our donated goods and retail activity.
Being a key role within the Trading team, this role will have a number of responsibilities, including;
- Develop strategic long term supply chain plans through the public and through partnerships ensuring efficient running and support of the relationships is developed benefiting Oxfam Ireland whilst preventing textile waste.
- Manage and implement stock donation strategies that will substantially increase over the door stock donations through all relevant donation channels
- Establish strong working relationships and relevant internal forums needed to generate opportunities and enable all key stakeholders to convene regularly and work together to achieve objectives and financial targets of the organisation.
- Carry out consumer research projects to better understand ways that Oxfam Ireland can help overcome restrictions in public donations.
To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the ability to;
- analyse and interpret external and internal information,
- receive information in a wide variety of formats and from a variety of sources, to consolidate and use to influence strategic planning for retail,
- resolve complex problems to design and deliver integrated marketing activity, and
- Influence and negotiate with a wide range of people to deliver against key business objectives and in a fast retail environment.
