Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) maintains relationships with millions of merchant businesses, in more than 25 countries, and delivers over $200B in spend. The people, processes, and technology that support this vital function are evolving to improve the merchant experience and economics. The mission of the Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) team within GMNS is to become essential to merchants and partners globally by delivering an easy, frictionless, value-added experience that enables them to meet their goals and serve their customers. GS&C consists of a diverse set of teams that support all aspects of the GMNS business.

The Director, Strategy & Planning, will directly support the Senior Vice President, Global Strategy & Capabilities towards achieving both the high growth aspirations and the day-to-day operations of the GS&C organization. This role will sit on the GS&C Leadership Team and act as the chief of staff supporting strategic planning, executive communications, processes, and organizational needs.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Provide strategic and analytical support for business planning initiatives such as annual Strategy Plan, Financial Plan, SQP/Investment Plan, and Business Unit Reviews.
  • Support strategy presentations and progress reviews with senior leaders within the company, external business partners, and merchants.
  • Lead GS&C-wide process for key activities such as annual goal setting, development planning and reviews, talent assessment, annual performance reviews (PMP), financial budgeting, and organization reviews.
  • Collaborate with key business partners across Finance, Pricing, Marketing, Colleague Experience Group, Corporate Affairs & Communications, Real Estate, and other teams on key initiatives.
  • Play an integral role in colleague engagement and driving organizational change.
  • Lead the office for domestic and international market visits/reviews, GS&C-wide events, and Leadership/Management Team meetings.
  • Coordinate with the GMNS Executive Office and the GS&C Leadership Team on business deliverables and strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years' payments and network experience.
  • Management consulting experience preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and independent decision-making ability with a keen focus on delivering results.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop holistic strategy and the key initiatives needed to support.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to prioritize deliverables and manage expectations.
  • Distinguished executive presence and professionalism and confidence interacting with senior leaders.
  • Superior communications skills both written and verbal. Able to storyboard presentations and structure compelling narratives. Strong PowerPoint skills. Clear, persuasive writing skills are a must.
  • Exceptional relationship building and listening skills; ability to relate to a wide range of people and build rapport quickly.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure or in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority to drive critical initiatives.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and building structure and processes with limited oversight.
  • Strong will to win and a positive attitude.
  • Mature, trustworthy, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
