Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Media/journalism, government, or communications experience in a manager capacity.
- Experience working in a multinational live news or event production setting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of Google’s products, strategy, priorities, and people.
- Ability to be a great coach and player, and contribute individually while also being able to deliver and work through others across Marketing and other functions.
- Ability to interact with executives with confidence, to take feedback and incorporate it quickly. Excellent communicator and leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide thought leadership and passion necessary to shape a compelling outlook of what Google Marketing stands for.

The role of Marketing at Google is to tell the story of the company's products to the world, you will play a critical role in explaining how we do this, what we do and, most importantly, what we stand for. As Director, Strategic Communications, Marketing, EMEA, you will serve as a thought partner to the Vice President of EMEA Marketing, shaping and driving all internal and external communications. You will shape and communicate a compelling roadmap for Google's future in EMEA to users, partners, shareholders, employees, and the media. You’ll bring knowledge of Google’s products, people, and culture. You’ll be comfortable jumping in on a broad range of topics. You’ll devise creative, fun, and non-standard solutions to help communicate the work of Marketing. Your role will span both internal and external communications on behalf of the Vice President and will involve partnering closely with key stakeholders.
We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders-and our own employees-about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leads to develop strategic narratives around key business priorities (e.g., Android, Pixel, digital advertising business model).

Partner with the Public Relations team to manage all of the Vice President, EMEA Marketing's external communications, including engagements at high profile Google and external events.

Lead all of the Vice President, EMEA Marketing's social activity, ensuring a steady and timely cadence of inspiring and thoughtful content.

Mentor and lead a high performing team of communications professionals.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Vice President, EMEA Marketing and their direct management team on strategic communications. Manage all of the EMEA Chief Marketing Officer's internal communications to the Marketing Team, spanning all aspects of strategy and culture.
