Kansas Neurological Institute

Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Range: $16.16 per hour plus an additional $1.50 for every hour worked and a $.50 shift differential for hours worked between 2 pm and 7 am
Position Summary: Provide direct service and support to the people who live at KNI so they can achieve personal growth and well-being, realize choice, attain full inclusion and celebrate their individuality. Provide an environment that promotes a meaningful life.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain frequent positive interactions with the individuals living at KNI.
- Support and assist people in the implementation of personal lifestyle plans
- Plan and ensure community inclusion
- Serve as a positive role model to the individuals living at KNI
- Provide appropriate person centered supports and services utilizing task partnering and incidental teaching when assisting with activities of daily living, such as:
- Basic housekeeping
- hygiene
- grooming
- dressing
- cooking
- eating
- working
- shopping
- laundry
- learning and recreation activities
- Participate in all aspects of training
Qualifications:
Licensing & Certification
- Active Certified Nursing Aide preferred but will be provided and required as part of required training.
Minimum Qualifications
- Occasional overtime, with shifts lasting up to a maximum of 16 hours per day
- Ability to work rotating weekends
- Required lifting of up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout shift
- Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop and twist for long periods of time throughout shift
- Must keep CNA and CMA licenses current once obtained
- Must stay current with CPR, KNI risk management procedures, proper lifting techniques and all other training needed to keep KNI in compliance
- Work location and hours may be changed as staffing needs change
Preferred Qualifications
- High-school education or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Previous experience caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements
- Ability to take and pass a drug screen
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
