Contributing to and delivering excellent customer service across East Ayrshire Leisure, the Visual Arts Assistant will facilitate the organisation, preparation and delivery of a wide range of planned programmes, activities, events across East Ayrshire Leisure contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, modern and sustainable services. Key Duties include: 1. Assist with the planning, scheduling and installation of exhibitions, displays, events and projects. 2. Assist with the care and maintenance of exhibitions and displays including object care / handling, condition checking, environmental and security controls, engagement and interpretation resourcing. 3. Assist with visual arts programming and commissioning, supporting the development of the regional visual arts sector. 4. Plan and deliver visual arts learning and engagement activities to a broad range of groups. 5. Contribute to promotion, and monitoring and evaluation processes. 6. Maintain successful and productive partnerships that will have a positive impact on the service and the community particularly with local providers such as; East Ayrshire Council (Health & Social Care and Education & Learning departments), Open Studios Ayrshire and other artist networks. Rate of Pay: £12.59 - £13.25 per hour Standard working hours are:- Monday – Thursday (9.00am – 5.00pm) with a 50 minute unpaid lunch break daily. Friday (9.00am – 4.00pm) with a 40 minute unpaid lunch break. Some evening and weekend working is required, which will be paid back by time off in lieu.
