Position Statement

We are looking for an undergraduate student to support our Interior Design team for Europe on a 12 month internship. An excellent opportunity for an undergraduate student with a small amount of practical experience, who is looking to propel their career within a world leading hospitality company. You will support on a range of design projects for our hotels across Europe, while reporting into the Senior Director of Design for EMEA. You will have the opportunity to learn on the job and gain a practical understanding of interior design within the hospitality industry.

Position Summary

This role includes generic design support across the design team and will allow you to own and manage small projects over the course of the internship. More specially, you will be:

  • Supporting with design for projects across Europe, including new developments, conversions, and renovations of existing hotels.
  • Developing presentation documents for internal and external use
  • Working closely with the Senior Director of Design to establish design direction and key brand identity elements specific to Europe.
  • Preparing design narratives and material boards.
  • Meeting suppliers.
  • Managing the fixtures, furnishings, and equipment (FF&E;) library.
  • Managing the project image library for the EMEA region.

Qualifications

We are looking for an undergraduate student currently working towards an interior design-related degree and has a strong desire to progress a career in the hotel industry. Success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Proactive with a strong willingness to learn and takes ownership of tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate
  • Good at planning, keeping records and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about driving the right-first-time approach to project development.
  • Strong in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, PowerPoint and InDesign.
  • Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • Above all, you must have a positive 'can-do- attitude, and be proactive and resilient.
