We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager at Plas Y Bryn Nursing Home in Rhos on Sea.
Our home is an 18 Bedded Specialist Mental Health Nursing Home.
We are looking to take someone on who is Clinical / Or none Clinical.
As a Deputy Manager you will already have very good insight into quality assurance, and taking the responsibility of the Registered Manager in her absence and that you will also work alongside her in a very integral role
Duties will include;
· To support and assist the Registered Manager in the management of each of the service functions within the home.
· Deputise for the Registered Manager during their absence, following agreed policies, procedures and management techniques at all times.
· Positively and fully support implement the decisions of the Registered Manager. Reconcile differences of approach and opinion with the Registered Manager in private
· Create and uphold an open, positive and inclusive management culture.
· Participate in the development of the home’s policies.
· Share in the development of strategic plans for the home.
· Minimise legal risks.
· Participate in evaluation of the home against agreed organisational goals
· Assist in the formulation and implementation of care and nursing policies and procedures. Formulate and implement policies and procedures.
· Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standard’s required by legislation related to the registration of the home.
· To assist, discuss, that all potential residents are within the acceptable criteria and have a comprehensive assessment prior to admission.
· To ensure all records and reports held are accurate, appropriate, up to date and in line with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
· To ensure that the control of drugs and medicines is appropriate and correct records kept in accordance with the CIW and NMC Standards for Medicines Management 2008.
· To co-ordinate with the Registered Manager, Social Workers and others as necessary to secure the best possible resident care at all times.
· To monitor and review the progress of residents in order to ensure that quality of care is maintained.
· To be part of the on call managers rota within the home.
· The deputy manager is intended to work as a member of the day to day hands-on care team, and the overwhelming proportion of work time should be spent in contact with the Service Users as opposed to being office based.
· Evaluate care plans
· Ensure service users’ rights are protected.
