Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Deputy Head of Occupational Therapy to support the Head of Service to operationally and clinically manage the Occupational Therapy Service here in the beautiful Island of Jersey. The successful candidate will support and deputise for the Head of Service as required including co-ordinating policies and procedures relating to Clinical Governance and standards of care, to promote best practice across the service .
The Deputy Head will support the Head of Service in leading, planning, developing and evaluating the Occupational Service, facilitating change and implementing solutions to ensure high standards of client-centric service delivery and value for money. The post holder will hold a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, must be registered with the Health care Professions Council (HCPC) and will be required to register with the Jersey care Commission (JCC).
The successful candidate will have previous management management experience and will have a breadth of clinical experience in a range of clinical settings. The post holder must be able to communicate effectively and on all levels with other Government of Jersey Senior Managers and Clinicians, Health & Community Services staff, members of the public and politicians. They must meet a broad range of Government of Jersey Senior Management Core Competencies, in particular strategic awareness, leadership, persuasive communication, financial management and breadth of knowledge. The ability to effectively influence colleagues and senior staff both within and external to Health & Community Services is essential.
