To help us achieve continued commercial success and further enhance our strong reputation, we are looking for a proactive and motivated Service Delivery Manager. With people leadership, customer service, and a growth mindset at the heart of your thinking, we are looking for an experienced leader with a sound knowledge of water treatment and mechanical and electrical type work.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Southern O&M Manager you will have direct leadership and line management responsibilities for a team of highly skilled and experienced Field Engineers. You will be responsible for monitoring and delivering high standards of H&S, performance, quality and compliance across our customer’s sites, along with building great customer relationships.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of our field based operational contracts. Ensuring safe, effective, efficient, and profitable contracts are delivered.
  • Line management responsibilities for a team of field based engineers, ensuring that Alpheus’ high standards are consistently achieved and delivered. Developing and enhancing the team’s skills and capabilities.
  • Responsible for the safe planning, management, and delivery of our remedial mechanical and electrical work across all sites.
  • Identify and lead on continuous improvement strategies, ensuring that the safe operation, optimisation and sustainability of client’s sites are the top priorities.
  • Own the compliance responsibilities for all sites – lead on the principle that 100% compliant sites are achievable, drive proactive and energetic actions to ensure this, drive the compliance support to provide timely and quality assistance and ownership.
  • Responsibility for H&S implementation and management across all sites and process safety management on applicable contracts.
  • Lead a program of Licence to Operate training for all direct reports to develop and enhance the team’s skills and capabilities. Identify opportunities for improved customer service through enhanced skills and behaviours.
  • Lead on developing a customer service and growth mindset within the field operations team and wider within the Operations department.
  • Provide a visible presence on sites to customers and Alpheus staff, leading by owning customer/ contract problems and ensuring a successful resolution.
  • Central to the identification and delivery of value adding services.
What do you need?

The successful candidate for this fast paced and hands on role will have demonstrable experience within the water or wastewater operations industry, along with relevant experience in team management or leadership duties.

You will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering along with an excellent awareness and understanding of water treatment and compliance. Experience in risk assessment, document control, job planning, inspections/auditing and IT will be desirable, along with an industry standard H&S qualification.

Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication abilities and a dynamic approach to problem resolution will be required. In addition, the ability to identify areas of the business and customer’s sites where improvements can be made will be essential.

You will be able to demonstrate a keen awareness and proven experience in managing and delivering high standards of operational Health & Safety, along with leading on successful continuous improvement techniques. Ideally IOSH or NEBOSH trained.

Have a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across England for regular customer interface, site and staff management and evaluations.
