You will be responsible for delivering and/or collecting palletised freight over the Southeast, ensuring all paperwork is accurate, correctly signed and distributed whilst complying with driving hours, working time directives and adhering to safe operating and health and safety practices at all times.
The safe loading and unloading of goods will be overseen by you and you will take full responsibility for the security of your loads.
Presenting a professional image of the company in line with our excellent reputation, you will build and maintain positive customer relationships using your excellent communication skills and you will ensure freight is delivered and/or collected within service level agreements.
Attention to detail and time management skills are required to enable you to complete all paperwork and admin tasks for the role including full and thorough daily vehicle checks.
We are looking for individuals that have at least one year’s HGV driving experience, have a digitacho card and hold a current CPC qualification card to drive our Modern (<3 years) and eco-friendly fleet of vehicles.
You will have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours and will be able to work efficiently, accurately and safely under pressure. You will be a team player who is willing to support the rest of the team as and when needed – including working flexible shift patterns and increased hours during peak times.
Working 45 hours per week (days only) Monday-Friday with rostered Saturdays (1 in every 6/8 weeks), you will have varied start times.
If you have the right attitude and approach, we are keen to help our staff progress so there are opportunities to undertake training with our driver sponsorships up to Class 1.
