THE ROLE
As a Senior Data Architect/Engineer, you will be driving challenging projects from lead generation and pre-sales, through to project delivery and implementation for a range of cross-sector FTSE 100 clients. Your focus will be working closely with clients to understand their problems and technical challenges. The incumbent will work to create elegant and purposeful solutions that solve their problems and increase business efficiency. In addition, you will be working alongside our data scientists, internal stakeholders and tech teams to deliver data pipelines and analysis, establish best practice within their field and create a robust data management strategy using best architectural practices. The successful candidate will be adept at working in an agile, fluid environment and have demonstrable experience of working independently effectively across multi-discipline teams.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comfortably switching between being a data Architect Data Engineer, client liaison and technical project manager
- Working with 31G product navigators/managers to engage clients and translate their business needs into technical requirements
- Design end-to-end solutions that combine appropriate data and software architectures best practices with algorithmic components to address client needs
- Overseeing the implementation and delivery of solutions developed by 31G data science team
- Supporting 31G data scientists on various client projects, by reviewing their work and suggesting improvements
- Developing strategies that help 31G clients and partner firms manage and utilize their data assets
- Work closely with both technical and business stakeholders from the client’s side to help them develop their data strategy
- Supporting 31G efforts to expand and develop its data science community by leading recruitment efforts and mentoring team members. Building, mentoring and leading a team, as well as providing support and leadership in the data science and consulting space
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience in a consulting/client facing role
- Experience leading and mentoring technical teams
- Hands-on experience with relevant programming languages such as python and popular libraries used in Machine Learning and Statistics (i.e. numpy, scikit-learn scipy, tensorflow, pytorch etc.).
- Hands on Experience in creating data pipelines, Data cleansing and writing custom transformations to achieve the Data set required by the Data scientist team
- Deep understanding of the most important Machine Learning algorithms that are used in supervised and unsupervised tasks (i.e. linear & logistic regression, decision trees, tree-based ensembles, Deep Neural Networks, PCA, k-means & k-modes clustering, DBScan etc)
- Experience in SQL, NoSQL and Big data technologies such as Hadoop, with a focus on data transformation
- Worked in setting up Datalakes, Lake houses
- Familiarity with the concepts of Data mesh and data fabric
- Experience with diverse datasets from various domains
- Upwards of 5 years of experience in the broader data Architecture and data Engineering domain
- Experience in developing and productionizing end-to-end data science solutions using cloud platform technologies (i.e. GCP, AWS etc.) or Docker
- Proven ability to create engaging technical presentations/pitches for communication and sales purposes
- Extensive experience setting up ETL pipelines
- ETL Experience with JSON Data
- Experience with Data pipeline tools such as Airflow, Stitch, Google Dataflow
- Extensive Experience with 3rd party integrations via API or stream feeds
- Comfortable with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience designing and building data infrastructures on cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS
- Experience with big data analysis tools such as Hive or Google BigQuery
- Python Programming skills
