The Product Owner of the Business Data team position is aligned with our internal data team to support the data reporting needs between our internal application, practice-facing portal, and API integrations with various clients. The Product Owner - Business Data team will be able to create data process flows, mappings, and user story construction for data migration, reporting, and standardization conforming to our SDLC
The position will be to work in a collaborative team environment, with independent duties. The Product Owner of the Business Data team role will support the business stakeholders to ensure data integrity and provide checks and balances via dashboards and reports for data quality and oversight.
In addition, the Product Owner of the Business Data team role will work with the business stakeholders and IT to gather reporting requirements to help refine and enhance our data warehouse and cloud reporting solution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Owner of the Business Data responsibilities include, but are not limited to data analysis, documenting processes, working with the business to gather data/reporting requirements, supporting business reporting requests, and resolving data anomalies identified. This role will work with our data team in a supporting role to ensure requirements are discovered, analyzed, and translated into requirements for the team to develop solutions in our reporting technologies.
- Work with business stakeholders and IT to analyze, define, and document data/reporting requirements
- Support reporting requests from business stakeholders and validation of reports through further discovery and elicitation
- Participation in refinement and sprint planning sessions
- Facilitate daily standup meetings, providing updates on the team's progress and addressing any obstacles or challenges.
- Maintain the Kanban board, tracking progress and identifying any roadblocks in daily standup meetings.
- Work with businesses to identify and implement business rules/processes to maintain data integrity
- Document analytical products and company metadata
- Business contact to address reporting, data, and/or mapping questions
- Support user acceptance testing for data requirements, reports, and coordinate sign-off
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared work items to develop on a continuous basis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-related issues, provide insights, and recommend solutions.
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
- Lead the planning of product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Maintains all patient confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years in a business data analyst role, Reporting, or related role
- Proven experience as a business data analyst or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of business processes and data analysis techniques.
- Proficient in SQL and experience with database querying and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with Looker or other similar business intelligence tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets.
- Experience in requirements gathering and translating business needs into technical specifications
- Strong communication skills
- High sense of ownership and responsibility to all stakeholders to ensure work quality
- Experience writing business requirements in user story format
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Experience in Healthcare industry, specifically with benefits verification and Prior Authorizations processes
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience in the software development life cycle and working with software development teams
- Certifications in relevant areas such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Looker Certification would be a plus
