DATA SCIENTIST
We are seeking a Data Scientist for our site in Derby.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Data Scientist you will be working as part of the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) team at Incora delivering world class forecasting and inventory management solutions utilising advanced analytics & machine learning.
The right candidate will provide machine learning based forecasts of customer demand for parts and develop tools that aid better overall forecasting and impact analysis. As a Data Scientist you will be engaged with stakeholders in our various business domains with a mission to drive data science adoption creating added value within our company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead multiple data science projects right from initial problem statement formulation, data exploration & transformation to application of machine learning algorithms and integrating with existing business processes and systems in a live environment. Duties include:
· Provide data science-based solutions to business problems of varying complexity
· Apply data science & machine learning concepts and python development skills to develop machine learning models in diverse business domains such as Sales, Forecasting/Planning, Operational Optimisation and Supply Chain Improvements
· Maintain and continuously enhance the Incora Machine Learning Platform, including the extension of forecasting to other business units tackle business issues that require the application of advanced analytics.
· Contribute ideas and thoughts leading towards solutions to business problems
· Progress from initial ideas to solution development
ABOUT YOU
· Hold a Degree qualification with numerical content or equivalent
· Proven experience in management the full life cycle of projects in Data Science & machine learning
· Broad knowledge of multiple machine learning frameworks & algorithms
· Intermediate level knowledge of databases (Relational & non-relational) in the context of data science
· Intermediate level software development skills in Python for data science using best practice quality guidelines
· Intermediate level with Microsoft Office including Excel
· Strong analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to demonstrator stakeholder management and leadership skills
· Experience in Forecasting & Inventory or SIOP management (desirable)
· Experience in supply chain and/or logistics environment (desirable)
· Cloud based computing environment (desirable)
