Job description
You will join Warwick Medical School, Division of Clinical Trials to assist in the management of data on clinical trials activity carried out within the Warwick Clinical Trials Unit cancer team.
FULL-TIME, FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 12 MONTHS
You will ensure that data is entered onto the database within timescales; query data; contact research sites in the trials to encourage return of their data; dispatch case report forms and data clarification forms, and ensure that all documentation is archived effectively.
You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent (with a Grade C or above in Maths & English) and will have experience of data collection and inputting gained in either a healthcare or research environment, and the ability to pay attention to detail. Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills are also essential.
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB PURPOSE
- To assist in the management of data on clinical trials activity carried out within the Warwick Clinical Trials Unit.
- To ensure data is entered onto the database in a timely way, contact sites in the trials to encourage return of their CRFs and questionnaires and check the information provided, dispatch questionnaires and ensure that all documentation is archived effectively.
- To support the trial coordinator in the preparation of materials for use by sites and participants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assistance with establishing and maintaining databases on research projects
- Data entry and data cleaning relating to research projects within the group
- Mailing and collection of questionnaires and other data
- Following up missing data from participating research sites
- Maintain and develop IT and manual filing and record systems, reviewing and implementing revised systems where appropriate
- 6 Contribute to the randomisation service run by the Clinical Trials Unit, conducting telephone randomisations as required
- Transcription of recorded interviews/meetings in required format
- Any other duties (e.g. routine clerical tasks, minute taking) as may be required under the supervision of the Clinical Trials Manager.
