Head of IT

Thetford/Hybrid

£50,000 – £60,000

Are you experienced with leading a team, whilst remaining technically hands on? An incredible opportunity is available to work with a manufacturing business locally. You will feel like you’re making a difference here as you’ll be leading a small team, running their projects and being the face of IT.

Ultimately IT based decisions will be yours, dictating the future of the division including potential new team members, new upgrades and ensuring all systems are maintained so the company can carry out business as usual.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network, servers, and virtualization
• Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes where possible
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
• Making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
• Jointly responsible for budgeting, planning assessment of systems and licences

Management & Leadership

• Accountable for ensuring that direct reports and their teams have regular 121 meetings and appraisals in line with company expectations.
• Mentoring, coaching and supporting direct reports to ensure they are appropriately trained and competent in their roles.

Key Skills:

• Experience of managing an IT team desirable
• Dynamic and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a strong leader and able to challenge.
• Self-motivated and achievement orientated.

Technologies:

• Device management – Intune
• Security (particularly MS technologies)
• Veeam
• Azure, Azure AD
• Meraki & Network understanding
