Flex is seeking a Data Engineer to join the team in a hybrid capacity based out of our Irvine, CA office. This position can be either a California-based remote opportunity for an independent contractor, or hybrid (based out of our Irvine, CA office) for a full-time regular employee. You must already reside in California to be considered).
This position will be responsible for expanding and optimizing the data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and data collection for analytical purposes. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and has expertise in building both supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning Models on top of the assembled / optimized datasets.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
Build the technology infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies
Build Machine Learning models that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into student skills/competencies
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data orchestration over both batch and streaming workloads
Qualifications
5+ years of demonstrated data engineering experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark, and proficiency in SQL
Strong coding skills in distributed programming languages such as Pyspark and proficiency in SQL
3+ years of experience in machine learning methods, such as regression, clustering, classification
Demonstrated experience using data science libraries in Python, SQL, R
Experience utilizing cloud technologies like AWS Databricks, S3, Redshift
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field such as Statistics or Data Science
Compensation:
Full-time: $85-110k (commensurate to experience)
Contractor: $60/hr - $80/hr (commensurate to experience)
