Equitable’s Individual Life Inforce Optimization team is seeking a strategic minded, highly motivated, self-starter for a Business Intelligence / Data Analyst role. Associate will collaborate cross-functionally with other areas of the Individual Life Business to analyze data and pro-actively help monitor and manage the life business. This position is a remote (work from home) role with occasional travel.


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for data mining, analysis, reporting, modeling, and using existing corporate models and software to enhance the understanding of life product performance and emerging trends.
  • Create and manage databases, develop and write report specifications, and utilize other data collection tools to develop and construct operational reports for management.
  • Responsible for review and tracking of new business sales and policy transaction data to ensure they align with our product pricing and underwriting expectations.
  • Interpret results to ensure accuracy and provide analysis of data inconsistencies with recommendations for resolution.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to a variety of audiences.

The base salary range for this position is $67,000-$100,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of hands on data mining, analysis, reporting and modeling work experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in SQL, Hadoop, Python (or other language)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Life Insurance products and/or industry highly desired
  • Data analysis and/or predictive model application experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a demanding environment

Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.


Data Analysis Tools: Knowledge of key uses and benefits of data analysis tools; ability to utilize data analysis tools to identify factors influencing business performance and to gain greater insight into trends within a business, industry and customer base.


Data Gathering and Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques and processes; ability to gather and analyze data on the learning needs of a target population.


PL/SQL: Knowledge of Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL); ability to use Oracle's PL/SQL.
