Woodside Animal Centre, the home of the RSPCA in Leicestershire, Peterborough and Rutland, strives to make a difference to the lives of abused, abandoned and unwanted animals. We provide care, support, rehabilitation and medical treatment for animals, which in many cases have faced horrific treatment.
Our vision is a world where all animals are treated with compassion and respect, and we want every animal that comes into our care to find a happy forever home no matter how long it takes to find the perfect one.
We are an independently funded charity (Charity Reg no. 222621) and a branch of the National RSPCA charity. We receive no RSPCA central or government funding, and rely heavily on the generosity of the people of Leicestershire, Peterborough and Rutland to help support our work.
The charity is here to provide aid to animals in need, providing care, medical treatment, rehabilitation, retraining love kindness and understanding and enabling our animal team to rebuild the lives of animals, giving them time to trust again before we find forever loving homes.
Our Front of House / reception is staffed by a manager, customer service staff and a team of volunteers.
The Role
The prime purpose of the role is to welcome new visitors to the Woodside Animal Centre, in a friendly, warm, polite and professional manner
To deal with all face to face inquiries from the members of the public. Ensuring each inquiry is dealt with in an efficiently and in line with branch policy and procedure.
In this role you will be dealing with animal re homing and customer queries.
Be of sympathetic nature
Ability to work under pressure and be able to direct and work as part of a team.
Woodside animal centre is open 7 days a week and we are currently looking for someone who can cover Saturday and Sunday plus one weekday shifts.

This is a critical role ,very rewarding and will make a huge difference to the animals.
Experience:
The successful candidate will have good communication skills and experience of dealing with the public
Not essential but desirable that you will have the ability to work flexibly.
You will need to have at least 1 years previous experience in a customer facing role, together with basic IT skills however full training will be given to the right candidate.
Experience of supervising volunteers is desirable, as is previous experience working for a charity in a retail situation.
This is a three days a week position
