YOUR PART IN OUR JOUNRNEY
This is a great opportunity to join the Customer Operations team to work as a Credit Specialist for our industrial, commercial, small and micro business customers.
Reporting into the Credit and Collections Manager, you will be responsible for the application of late payment interest and charges as well as taking ownership of the liquidation/administration process.
You will get the opportunity to work as part of a team to achieve collections targets and to put forward ideas and suggestions to address operational ideas and improve processes.
YOUR PART IN THE TEAM
Your main activities will be:
Collate the appropriate paperwork to enable ‘write offs’ to be done on the system
Lead on the submission of proof of debt claims and liaise with Insolvency Practitioners and Administrators to ensure Shell Energy UK’s (SEUK) exposure is managed
Apply late payment charges and interest to SEUK accounts where payments have been received late or not at all, in line with SEUK Terms and Conditions
Conduct Land Registry Searches & other investigative searches to establish liability
Make proactive use of the Experian credit risk management system to identify customers within SEUK portfolio at risk of failure
Carry out ad hoc tasks to support the achievement of monthly collection targets
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HELP MAKE THE BEST OF THE ROLE
Excellent telephone manner, coupled with great interpersonal skills
Have experience within a Credit Control/Finance/Accounts Receivable team (desirable)
Good attention to detail and accuracy
A positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop skills
Ability to self-manage and take ownership
Proactively identify process and system improvements and drive the idea into delivery
A positive, enthusiastic player with a flexible attitude to daily tasks
