Credit Controller

Salary: up to £30,000 per annum (DOE)

Our client is a nationwide supplier of facilities maintenance services with over 34 years’ experience delivering M&E building services maintenance to the corporate, healthcare, education, retail, transport, and manufacturing sectors across the UK.
They go further than maintaining buildings to a high standard - when a property portfolio is placed in our care, they recognise that its energy consumption and conservation as their responsibility too.
They are now looking to hire a credit controller to join the existing Finance Team in St Ives. This is an important role, managing client accounts and ensuring that new customers have settled their invoices in a timely manner.
As a credit controller, you will be responsible for collecting debts from our company debtors, evaluating new credit requests, ensuring timely payments of company debts, processing invoices, maintaining the sales ledger, and providing administrative support.
Credit Controller Responsibilities:
- Evaluating new credit requests and conducting client credit checks.
- Managing and collecting debts from company debtors.
- Setting up the terms of credit for new clients.
- Responding to Client invoice queries.
- Reconciling Client Accounts and Statement Balances.
- Preparing statements and information for the Management Accountant.
- Ensuring that debtors overdue balances stay within the pre agreed levels.
Credit Controller Requirements:
The strongest candidates will have excellent customer services skills. Formal qualifications are less important than the following qualities:
- Excellent interpersonal / Customer Service skills.
- Tenacity.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to clearly explain financial information / data.
- High attention to detail.
- Problem solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise own workload.
- Good business judgement.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

Work hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm (1 hour for lunch)
