Job Summary
Main Objectives:
WOW Toys have been designing, manufacturing and selling high quality, durable toys for the pre-school market since 1997. We are an SME importer and B2B retailer and are looking for a commercially focused Financial Controller for 3 days per week, reporting to a forward thinking Managing Director where your opinions will be heard and your knowledge and experience valued.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities:
- Manage & review current financial processes
- Drive the company’s sales and profitability
- Work with external advisors to maximise tax efficiencies & allowances
- Oversee working capital & stock management
- Monthly accounts and balance sheets (UK and US) reviews
- Reconciliations review
- Ensure that UK VAT returns, sales listings, etc are done
- Ensure year-end statutory accounts are produced
- Project budgets as required and responsibility for annual financial budget
- Produce financial forecasts and budgets for the business and monthly P&L and cash flow forecasting
- Analyse the performance against the budget and identifying the issues and solutions
- Keeping people accountable for delivering results in line with the budget
- Controlling costs and maintaining optimum stock levels
- Profit improvement initiatives
- Margin Analysis & make recommendations on operational efficiencies and control major costs
- Be the first point of contact for company financing including hedging and lines of credit
- Other Ad-hoc duties as deemed by the MD
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will have the following credentials:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Experienced Financial Controller
- Experience of importing & wholesaling (desirable)
