Reporting into the MD and with a dotted line into group, this position will see you take full responsibility for the day to day finances of the business, overseeing a Production Accountant and is a varied and interesting role.
The role requires an individual who has previously worked within a TV/Film production house, who likes to take ownership and responsibility and is looking to join a lovely team. This position will form part of the company management team and will have the opportunity to really add value.
This position is offering hybrid working
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Full preparation and management of the month end and year end accounting close process and submit to group finance
- Preparation and management of the budgeting and forecasting process, reviewing against actuals on a monthly basis, highlighting any areas of concerns and potential solutions.
- Responsible for preparation of management reports, ensuring management information is prepared in a timely manner
- Lead the weekly/monthly Production Review meeting, ensuring all cost reports are up to date and highlighting any risks/opportunities
- Manage the day to day responsibilities of the Production Accountant, reviewing sand signing off work
- Fully manage the company cash flow, reconciling all bank accounts (UK & foreign), tracking cash movements
- Preparation and submission of all VAT & Tax requirements
- Deal with UK & International broadcasters regarding financial reporting requirements, milestone payments etc
- Oversee all Tax Credits
- Manage the year end statutory audit process
- Ensure all royalty payments are accrued
- Ensure Distribution income is invoiced, analysing statement, producing summaries and forecasts
Candidate requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with PQE
- Previous experience gained within TV/Film is essential
- Strong accounting skills with a working knowledge of IFRS
- Experience of PMI would be highly beneficial
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, champion and challenge others; with a strong team ethic and a collaborative approach
- Able to drive change, constantly looking to improve efficiencies
- Approachable, friendly with great communication skills
- Enjoys being hands on, and happy to turn your hand to anything
- Able to demonstrate being able to manage, motivate and develop teams
- Great attention to detail, deadline orientated and a logical mindset
