Job description
Fox Morris Group are currently working to recruit a Senior Corporate Lawyer. This is a full-time role, on a 3-6 month+ contract.
**Remote working available however must be willing to attend Executive, committee and other meetings as required.**
Rate: £500-£633+ per day (negotiable dependant on experience)
Hours: 36 per week
The right candidate…
- Admitted solicitor, barrister or CiLEX Fellow with significant post qualification experience,
- Substantial and significant experience of local government law and practice,
- Monitoring officer or deputy monitoring officer experience preferred.
Role responsibilities…
- To provide or ensure the provision of high quality legal advice to the Council, Executive and other Members and Officers,
- To advise on the Council’s Constitution, decision making and other corporate governance matters and processes,
- To develop the capacity and capabilities of the Shared Legal Services teams to deliver the best mix of external and internal legal advice,
- To appoint and oversee the input of counsel and external specialist legal advisers as required, and to handle specific projects and cases,
- To be responsible for the arrangements for complaints that Members have breached the Code of Conduct and dealing with complaints.
