Description
The Assistant Accountant Apprentice role is an exciting opportunity to work within our new entity, Daimler Truck Financial Services UK (DTFS UK) which went live in 2022. This role is integral to shaping the future of DTFS UK and supporting the creation of a successful business.
The primary responsibilities for the role include:
- Work with the accounting team to post manual accounting entries to both the general ledger and sub ledger.
- Responsible for daily accounting services, transactions and cash management.
- Support the transactional accountant with the maintenance of records and approval workflows checking all guidelines are followed.
- Monitor all intercompany payable and receivable accounts insuring accuracy resolving discrepancies quickly.
- Support preparation of various reports including VAT return, balance sheets reconciliation and other reports needed within the finance and controlling division.
- You are detail orientated person with a good understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Eager to learn and start an apprenticeship-training course, hosted by MK College.
- Proactive attitude, willing to take ownership of problems and resolve them to a satisfactory conclusion within pre-determined timeframes. The ability to ask the “right” (problem/solution focused) questions.

Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
Training to be provided
- Assistant Accountant Level 3
- Training with Milton Keynes College
- Ongoing training, support and development with the employer
